US735 Grade (High-Toughness PVD): The US735 is Mitsubishi's specialized grade for Stainless Steel machining. Unlike brittle high-speed grades, US735 uses a proprietary PVD coating over a high-toughness carbide substrate. This allows it to absorb the impact of interrupted cuts (like turning hex bars or shafts with keyways) and prevents micro-chipping in gummy 300-series stainless steels.
MA Chipbreaker (Precision Control): The MA geometry is designed for medium-finish applications. It features a unique rake angle that helps control the long, stringy chips common in stainless steel. For a 0.4mm radius insert, the MA chipbreaker ensures that cutting forces are kept low, preventing chatter on thin-walled parts.
0.4mm Radius (Tight Tolerance Finishing): The "04" (1/64") nose radius is optimized for precision. It allows for a smaller depth of cut while achieving a high-quality surface finish. It is the perfect choice when you need to maintain tight dimensional tolerances on critical stainless components.
