The Original Korloy VCGT110302-AK H01 (ANSI Cross Reference: VCGT 220.5-AK) is a high-precision 7° Relief Polished Carbide Insert designed for Ultra-Refined Finishing of non-ferrous materials. Featuring the legendary H01 Grade, this insert's rake face is micro-polished to a mirror gloss to eliminate material adhesion. The 35° slim profile provides superior clearance for intricate tracing, while the 0.2mm (0.008") radius enables surgical precision in Aluminum, Copper, Brass, and Plastics.
The VCGT Advantage: Unlike the VBGT series (5° relief), the VCGT 1103 series features a 7° relief angle. This makes it compatible with the most widely used SVJCR / SVUCR tool holders, providing an ideal balance of sharp cutting action and robust edge support for standard CNC turning operations.
Technical Specifications (Metric & ANSI):
| ISO Designation | VCGT 110302-AK |
| ANSI Designation | VCGT 220.5-AK |
| Inscribed Circle (IC) | 6.35 mm / (1/4") |
| Thickness (S) | 3.18 mm / (1/8") |
| Corner Radius (r) | 0.2 mm / (0.008") |
| Relief Angle | 7° (C-Type) |
| Grade | H01 (Micro-Polished Uncoated Carbide) |
Core Performance Benefits:
- Anti-Adhesion H01 Grade: Prevents Built-Up Edge (BUE) in gummy materials, ensuring the 0.2mm radius stays sharp for longer production runs.
- Razor Sharp AK Geometry: Specifically engineered for aluminum, providing high rake angles that shear through the material with minimal cutting force.
- Exceptional 35° Clearance: Perfect for profiling, back-turning, and intricate detail work that wider 55° or 80° inserts cannot access.
- Mirror Surface Quality: Micro-polished finish delivers a high-gloss, aesthetically pleasing result on decorative aluminum parts.
Recommended Cutting Parameters:
| Material Group | Cutting Speed (Vc) | Feed Rate (fn) | Depth of Cut (ap) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aluminum Alloys (6061/7075) | 250-800 m/min | 0.05-0.12 mm/rev | 0.05-1.5 mm |
| Copper / Brass | 150-500 m/min | 0.05-0.10 mm/rev | 0.05-1.2 mm |
| Plastic (Acrylic/POM) | 100-400 m/min | 0.08-0.18 mm/rev | 0.10-2.0 mm |
Compatible Tool Holders (7° Relief):
Precision-matched for VCGT 1103 (ANSI 22) positive inserts:
- Standard External Profiling: SVJCR 1212H11 / SVJCR 1616H11 / SVJCR 2020K11
- Internal Boring Bars: S16Q-SVUCR11 / S20R-SVUCR11 / S25S-SVUCR11
Machinist Tip: VCGT vs. VBGT
Choosing the right 35° insert for your CNC lathe:
The Universal Standard. It fits the common SVJCR holder. Because it has a larger relief angle, it provides better clearance for small-diameter internal boring and general profiling tasks.
The Heavy-Duty Profiler. It requires an SVJBR holder. The smaller relief angle means more material behind the cutting edge, offering slightly higher rigidity for tough-to-cut non-ferrous alloys.
Pro Advice: Always use high-quality coolant with the H01 grade when turning Aluminum. Even with a polished surface, heat is the enemy of a mirror finish.
Packaging: 10 pieces per box.

Technical FAQ & Buying Guide
Absolutely. Our CNC carbide inserts (including CNMG, WNMG, DNMG, and APMT series) are manufactured strictly adhering to international ISO/ANSI specifications. A CNMG 120408 from OYYU BEYOND will flawlessly fit any standard turning tool holder or indexable tool from major global brands like Sandvik Coromant, Kennametal, Iscar, Walter, or SECO, providing a highly cost-effective premium alternative without sacrificing tolerance or tool life.
We offer optimized CVD and PVD multi-layer coatings for different ISO material groups:
- For Carbon/Alloy Steel (ISO P): Choose our thick multi-layer CVD coated grades (e.g., Al2O3 + TiN). They provide exceptional crater wear resistance and thermal barriers during high-speed dry or wet roughing.
- For Stainless Steel (ISO M): Choose our nano-structured PVD coated grades with sharp, positive chipbreakers (like -TM or -MA). This combination prevents work hardening and effectively controls sticky chips.
The optimal cutting parameters vary depending on the workpiece hardness and operation type:
- For General Steel Turnings: Recommended cutting speed ($V_c$) ranges from 150 to 280 m/min, with a feed rate ($f$) of 0.15 to 0.45 mm/rev.
- For Stainless Steel Finishing: Recommended cutting speed ($V_c$) is 120 to 200 m/min, with a feed rate ($f$) of 0.10 to 0.25 mm/rev.Always adjust parameters based on early wear patterns: increase $V_c$ if built-up edge occurs, or reduce $V_c$ if severe flank wear is observed.
