When should you choose the AG55 partial profile?
Best for Versatility. Great for general repair or job shop work. Note: You must pre-turn the workpiece to the exact major diameter before threading, as this insert does not "top" the thread.
Best for High-Volume Production. Each insert is dedicated to one specific pitch and "tops" the thread, ensuring the crest is perfectly formed and deburred automatically.
Machinist's Pro Tip: Because the AG55 is a partial profile insert, the tip radius is designed to be small enough for 0.5mm pitch. When cutting 3.0mm pitch with this insert, ensure you use the correct number of passes to avoid excessive wear on the small tip radius.
