The Tungaloy CN Series (including CNMG and CNMA) is the backbone of industrial turning operations. Featuring an 80° diamond shape, these negative inserts provide 8 usable cutting edges (4 per side), making them the most economical choice for heavy roughing to medium finishing. Engineered with Tungaloy's T9200 series CVD coating, these inserts excel in high-speed dry machining of carbon steels. For challenging stainless steel or high-temp alloys, the AH725 PVD grade offers superior edge toughness. Q: What is the difference between CNMG and CNMA?

A: CNMG features a chipbreaker for chip control in steel and stainless. CNMA has a flat top (no chipbreaker) and is primarily used for cast iron or hard turning where no chip control is needed.

Q: Can I use CNMG for finishing?

A: Yes, if you select a finishing chipbreaker like **-TSF**. However, for extreme precision and low cutting force, a positive CC or DC insert may be better.
