How to Choose a Tungaloy Threading Insert
Step 1: Identify the thread profile and standard. Most applications are ISO Metric (M-coarse/M-fine). Other standards: UN/UNF (American), NPT/NPTF (pipe taper), BSW/BSP (Whitworth British), ACME, Trapezoidal. The 16ER/16IR series covers ISO + UN + Whitworth; 11IRA60 covers ACME; 16IRG60 covers generic 60°.
