Threading FAQ

Q: Should I use Radial or Flank infeed?

A: For most CNC operations, **Modified Flank Infeed (1-5°)** is recommended. This directs heat to one side of the insert and improves chip control.

Q: What is the difference between Full Profile and Partial Profile?

A: Full profile inserts cut the complete thread including the crest (deburring). Partial profile (A60/G60) can cut a range of pitches but does not finish the crest.

Q: How do I prevent thread vibration?

A: Ensure your tool overhang is as short as possible. For internal threading, use a carbide-core boring bar if the ratio exceeds 3xD.

Industrial Tip: The "Anvil" Check
