The Mitsubishi MMT16ERG60-S VP15TF is a heavy-duty external threading insert featuring a partial profile 60-degree G geometry. The "G" designation is optimized for coarser pitches, covering a range from 1.75mm to 3.0mm (14 to 8 TPI). This insert is the professional solution for CNC threading of large Metric bolts and Unified National (UN) coarse threads. VP15TF Miracle Grade
The VP15TF grade is Mitsubishi's benchmark for indexable threading durability. It utilizes a high-toughness micro-grain substrate coated with Miracle (Al-Ti-N) PVD. This provides incredible resistance to built-up edge (BUE) and plastic deformation, ensuring consistent performance when threading gummy materials like 304 and 316 stainless steel.
-S Type 3D Chipbreaker
Large pitch threads (8-14 TPI) produce substantial chip volume that can destroy thread surface finish. The -S molded chipbreaker uses a specialized 3D rake geometry to curl chips away from the cutting zone. This minimizes heat transfer back into the insert, extending tool life during aggressive CNC operations.
