Machinist Tip: Why Single-Ended SP200?
Single-ended vs. Double-ended (MGMN) inserts:
Best for Deep Cuts. Because the back of the insert is solid steel, it handles the pressure of deep parting (especially in solid bars) much better than double-ended inserts which can vibrate or break under extreme depth.
Best for Shallow Grooving. Double-ended inserts offer two edges for economy, but their depth of cut is limited by the second edge. For true parting-off of large stock, SP series is the industry standard.
Pro Advice: Always ensure the SP200 is mounted perfectly on center. Being even 0.2mm above or below center will cause the 2mm blade to rub or chip prematurely.
