The Original Korloy TPGH080204L-CRT PC5300 (ANSI: TPGH 1.51.51L-CRT) is a high-performance PVD Coated Turning Insert engineered for Precision Finishing across a wide spectrum of difficult-to-cut materials. Powered by the PC5300 Universal Grade, this insert is specifically optimized for Stainless Steel (M), Titanium & Heat Resistant Alloys (S), and Carbon Steel (P). The 0.4mm radius provides enhanced structural integrity, making it the perfect choice for medium-duty precision work on Swiss-type CNC lathes.
Superior Edge Reliability: PC5300 features a fine-grained substrate and an advanced TiAlN PVD coating. This combination offers extreme resistance to built-up edge (BUE) and thermal cracking, which are the most common failure modes when machining gummy materials like 300-series stainless steel.
Technical Specifications (Metric & Imperial):
| ISO Designation | TPGH 080204L-CRT |
| ANSI Designation | TPGH 1.51.51L-CRT |
| Inscribed Circle (IC) | 4.76 mm / (3/16") |
| Thickness (S) | 2.38 mm / (3/32") |
| Corner Radius (r) | 0.4 mm / (0.016") |
| Grade | PC5300 (Universal PVD Specialist) |
Core Performance Benefits:
- Enhanced Edge Strength: The R0.4 radius is more robust than R0.2, allowing for higher feed rates and better resistance to mechanical shocks.
- Anti-Adhesion Coating: The smooth PVD layer reduces friction, preventing "welding" of gummy stainless steel to the tool tip.
- Precision CRT Geometry: Sharp cutting action ensures dimensional accuracy even on small, thin-walled components.
- Universal Grade Strategy: Simplifies inventory by using a single grade that performs excellently on multiple material groups.
Recommended Cutting Parameters:
| Material Group | Cutting Speed (Vc) | Feed Rate (fn) | Depth of Cut (ap) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stainless Steel (304/316) | 90-190 m/min | 0.05-0.15 mm/rev | 0.10-0.7 mm |
| Alloy Steel / 4140 | 130-240 m/min | 0.05-0.18 mm/rev | 0.10-0.8 mm |
| Inconel / Super Alloys | 30-60 m/min | 0.04-0.12 mm/rev | 0.10-0.5 mm |
Compatible Tooling Systems:
Fits all standard 08-size triangular positive tool holders:
- External Precision Holders: STGCR 1010H08 / STGCR 1212H08
- Boring Bars for Small Holes: S08K-STUPR08 / S10K-STUPR08
Machinist Tip: Choosing Between 02 and 04 Radius
Optimizing your TPGH precision finishing:
Best for Productivity. The 0.4mm radius allows for higher feed rates and is much more resistant to chipping during interrupted cuts or when cutting through slightly rougher surfaces.
Best for Fine Detail. Choose the 0.2mm version only if you have extremely tight internal corner requirements or if the workpiece is so thin that tool pressure causes deflection/vibration.
Pro Advice: When machining titanium, keep the cutting zone saturated with coolant. While PC5300 has high heat resistance, titanium’s low thermal conductivity can destroy any edge if allowed to overheat.
Packaging: 10 pieces per box.

Technical FAQ & Buying Guide
Absolutely. Our CNC carbide inserts (including CNMG, WNMG, DNMG, and APMT series) are manufactured strictly adhering to international ISO/ANSI specifications. A CNMG 120408 from OYYU BEYOND will flawlessly fit any standard turning tool holder or indexable tool from major global brands like Sandvik Coromant, Kennametal, Iscar, Walter, or SECO, providing a highly cost-effective premium alternative without sacrificing tolerance or tool life.
We offer optimized CVD and PVD multi-layer coatings for different ISO material groups:
- For Carbon/Alloy Steel (ISO P): Choose our thick multi-layer CVD coated grades (e.g., Al2O3 + TiN). They provide exceptional crater wear resistance and thermal barriers during high-speed dry or wet roughing.
- For Stainless Steel (ISO M): Choose our nano-structured PVD coated grades with sharp, positive chipbreakers (like -TM or -MA). This combination prevents work hardening and effectively controls sticky chips.
The optimal cutting parameters vary depending on the workpiece hardness and operation type:
- For General Steel Turnings: Recommended cutting speed ($V_c$) ranges from 150 to 280 m/min, with a feed rate ($f$) of 0.15 to 0.45 mm/rev.
- For Stainless Steel Finishing: Recommended cutting speed ($V_c$) is 120 to 200 m/min, with a feed rate ($f$) of 0.10 to 0.25 mm/rev.Always adjust parameters based on early wear patterns: increase $V_c$ if built-up edge occurs, or reduce $V_c$ if severe flank wear is observed.
