The Original Korloy TNMG160408-HS PC9030 (ANSI: TNMG 332-HS) is a high-performance PVD Coated Semi-Finishing Insert engineered specifically for Stainless Steel (M-Group) and Super Alloys. Built with the premium PC9030 Grade, this insert features a specialized TiAlN coating that offers industry-leading resistance to chemical adhesion and heat. The HS (High-Sharpness) geometry, combined with a 0.8mm radius, provides a stronger cutting edge than its 0.4mm counterpart, making it perfect for long-life machining in demanding stainless applications.

Superior Edge Strength: Stainless steel turning often results in rapid flank wear and chipping. The HS chipbreaker "slices" through the material to reduce work hardening, while the 0.8mm radius offers the extra stability needed for higher feed rates on 304, 316, and Duplex steels.

Choosing the right geometry for your job:

HS Geometry (Precision - This Model)

Sharp & Clean. Best for finishing and semi-finishing. Its sharp rake angle prevents the "gummy" material from pushing, resulting in a cleaner surface finish and lower vibration.

HM Geometry (Medium Roughing)

Durability Focused. Best for skin cuts on castings or roughing passes where you encounter uneven surfaces. HM has a stronger edge but may cause more heat and vibration on fine finishing passes.

Pro Advice: For the best surface finish with a 0.8mm radius, ensure your feed rate is at least 0.2mm/rev. This forces the chip to break against the chipbreaker and keeps the cutting edge from simply rubbing the material.
