Quick Tip: Choosing Between Right (R) and Left (L) Hand
In profiling, the hand of the holder is critical for both the machine setup and the insert choice:
The standard choice for most CNC lathes moving toward the chuck. Must use KNUX...R (Right Hand) inserts.
Used for back-turning or sub-spindle operations. Must use KNUX...L (Left Hand) inserts.
Machinist's Pro Tip: Never mix Right-hand holders with Left-hand inserts. The unique parallelogram shape of the KNUX means the rake angle and clearance will be completely incorrect, leading to immediate tool failure and potential damage to the holder pocket.
