UC5115 Grade (The K-Class Standard): This grade represents the pinnacle of versatility for machining Gray and Ductile Cast Iron (K10–K25). The thick Alumina (Al2O3) CVD coating provides a thermal shield that allows for high-speed operation, while the specialized substrate offers the shock resistance required for heavy roughing.
CNMA Flat-Top Design: As a Flat-Top geometry, this insert has no chipbreaker. In cast iron machining, this is a major advantage. It provides the thickest possible cutting edge, effectively preventing the "edge crumbling" that occurs when traditional chipbreaker inserts hit sand pockets or casting crust.
1.6mm (1/16") Ultra-Heavy Radius: The 16 radius is built for High-Feed Roughing. It distributes the cutting pressure across a larger area, reducing heat concentration and allowing for massive feed rates that significantly shorten cycle times for large components.
