UC5115 Grade (CVD Coating): Optimized for the K-Class (Cast Iron) range, UC5115 features a thick Alumina layer that provides an exceptional thermal barrier. This prevents the heat generated by abrasive graphite flakes from reaching the carbide substrate, ensuring the insert maintains its shape and precision over long production runs.
CNMG Geometry & Chipbreaker: Unlike flat-top inserts, the CNMG geometry features a molded chipbreaker designed to manage chips at lower depths of cut. This is vital for finishing passes, as it prevents fine, hot chips from scratching the newly machined surface.
0.4mm (1/64") Radius: The small corner radius is specifically selected to reduce radial cutting forces. This is critical when machining thin-walled cast parts or using long-reach boring bars, as it prevents the chatter and vibration that ruin surface finishes.
