The Power of Miracle PVD Coating
VP15TF Miracle Grade (Advanced PVD): The VP15TF grade features an ultra-fine micro-grain substrate coated with Mitsubishi's proprietary Miracle (Al-Ti-N) PVD layer. This coating provides a unique combination of extreme surface hardness and excellent oxidation resistance. Because it is PVD-applied, it maintains a sharper cutting edge than CVD grades, which is essential for "shearing" gummy materials like 304/316 stainless steel instead of "tearing" them.
MS Chipbreaker (Stainless Logic): The MS geometry is specifically engineered for difficult-to-cut materials. It features a high rake angle and a specialized chip pocket that prevents the long, stringy chips common in austenitic stainless. It minimizes cutting resistance, which reduces heat and prevents work-hardening of the workpiece surface.
1.2mm (3/64") Radius (Edge Security): The 1.2mm corner radius provides superior edge strength. It allows for higher feed rates and provides a much stronger "tip" that resists chipping during interrupted cuts or when machining through surface scale, while still delivering an excellent industrial finish.

Radius Strength: In heavy roughing of stainless, heat is the enemy. The 1.2mm radius dissipates heat over a wider edge than the 0.8mm, prolonging tool life.
VP15TF vs. US735: Use VP15TF for general production and higher speeds. Switch to US735 only if you are experiencing extreme impact or heavy interrupted cuts where toughness is the only priority.
