Description

DCMT11T302-MV AP25N

Mirror Finish Specialist | AP25N Cermet Technology | Precision 0.2mm Radius

Superior Surface Integrity in Precision Turning

AP25N Grade (Advanced Cermet): The AP25N is a PVD-coated Cermet (Ceramic-Metal) grade. Unlike standard carbide, Cermet has a low affinity for metal, which virtually eliminates "Built-up Edge" (BUE). This makes it the premier choice for achieving high-gloss, mirror-like surface finishes on carbon steel, alloy steel, and even some stainless steels.

MV Chipbreaker (Micro-V Geometry): The MV geometry is optimized for stable chip control at very shallow depths of cut. It ensures that the microscopic chips generated during finishing passes are effectively evacuated, preventing "scratches" on your precision-turned workpiece.

0.2mm Radius (Ultra-Fine Detail): The sharp "02" (1/128") radius is engineered to minimize radial cutting forces. It is the ideal selection for machining long, slender shafts or thin-walled components where vibration (chatter) is a risk.

Metric vs. Imperial Comparison

System Model Designation I.C. (Inscribed Circle) Thickness Radius (RE)
Metric DCMT11T302-MV 9.525 mm 3.97 mm 0.20 mm
Imperial DCMT32.50.5-MV 3/8" 5/32" 0.0078"

Recommended Finishing Parameters

*AP25N performs best at high speeds. Avoid interrupted cuts to prevent cermet fracturing.

Workpiece Material Speed (Vc) Feed (fn) Depth (Ap)
Carbon/Alloy Steel 150 - 300 m/min 0.03 - 0.12 mm/r 0.10 - 0.80 mm
Stainless Steel (300 series) 100 - 200 m/min 0.03 - 0.10 mm/r 0.10 - 0.50 mm

Pro-Tip: AP25N vs. UE6110

AP25N (Cermet): Your first choice for aesthetics and tolerance. Use this for the final pass to get a "bright" finish. It lasts much longer in light finishing than standard carbide.

UE6110 (CVD Carbide): Switch back to UE6110 for roughing or when the material is scaled or hardened. Cermet (AP25N) is brittle and should not be used for heavy removal or interrupted cuts.
