Description

DCMT11T304 NX2525

Precision Cermet Grade | High-Speed Mirror Finish | 55° Diamond

Superior Surface Integrity with NX2525

NX2525 Grade (The Cermet Advantage): Mitsubishi's NX2525 is a titanium-based Cermet. It excels where standard carbide fails—specifically in high-speed finishing. Because Cermet is chemically inert to steel, it eliminates "edge welding," ensuring your workpieces come off the machine with a reflective, burnished appearance. It is highly resistant to crater wear and plastic deformation.

DCMT Geometry (Positive Rake): The 55-degree diamond shape with a 7-degree positive relief angle is designed to reduce cutting forces. This makes it ideal for finishing passes where you want to minimize heat transfer to the part, preventing dimensional drift.

0.4mm Finishing Radius: The 04 radius is the universal standard for precision turning. It provides enough edge strength for light semi-finishing while being sharp enough to achieve Ra values as low as 0.4–0.8 μm in optimal conditions.

Metric vs. Imperial Comparison

System Model Designation I.C. (Inscribed Circle) Thickness Radius (RE)
Metric DCMT11T304 9.525 mm 3.97 mm 0.40 mm
Imperial DCMT32.51 3/8" 5/32" 0.0157" (1/64")

Recommended Machining Data

*Cermet performs best at higher speeds. For finishing, ensure the depth of cut is larger than the honed edge radius.

Workpiece Material Speed (Vc) Feed (fn) Depth (Ap)
Carbon/Mild Steel 180 - 420 m/min 0.05 - 0.20 mm/r 0.20 - 1.50 mm
Alloy Steel (SCM/4140) 150 - 320 m/min 0.05 - 0.15 mm/r 0.20 - 1.20 mm

Pro-Tip: Cermet (NX2525) vs. Coated Carbide

NX2525 (Cermet): Specifically for a "Mirror" look. Best for continuous cuts at high surface speeds. Not recommended for heavy interruptions or low-speed machining as it may chip.

VP15TF/UE6110 (Carbide): Choose these when you have an interrupted cut (like a keyway) or when machining tough stainless steels where the higher impact strength of carbide is needed.
