It utilizes a specialized substrate that resists the thermal shock common in stainless steel machining. This grade is the premier choice for interrupted cuts, parts with heavy scale, or applications where tool chipping is a constant issue.
DCMT Geometry (Positive Chipbreaker): The 55-degree diamond shape with a positive rake angle effectively "slices" through gummy materials like 304 or 316 stainless. This reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge and prevents Built-up Edge (BUE), which is the leading cause of poor surface finish in stainless alloys.
