Why choose FGM over the standard FGD parting insert?
Designed for Multi-Directional work. Choose this if you need to turn a profile or widen a groove after plunging. It is the most versatile 4mm grooving tool in the Korloy lineup.
Designed for Straight Plunging. Excellent for simple cut-offs, but the body is not reinforced for lateral movement. Turning with an FGD will result in tool failure.
Machinist's Pro Tip: For 4mm FGM inserts, always check your center height. Being even slightly off-center will create excessive rubbing during side-turning, leading to poor surface finish and premature grade wear in NC3030.
