UC5105 Grade & CNMA Geometry
UC5105 Grade (Ultra-Hard CVD): This is the premium choice for Gray Cast Iron (K05-K15). The UC5105 features a specialized multi-layer CVD coating with a highly oriented alumina layer. It is engineered for maximum hardness and crater wear resistance, allowing CNC machines to run at significantly higher surface speeds (Vc) without edge deformation.
CNMA Flat-Top (Non-Chipbreaker): The CNMA geometry is designed for materials that produce short, crumbly chips like cast iron. By eliminating the chipbreaker groove, the insert maintains a solid carbide cross-section. This provides the ultimate edge strength to resist the high-frequency vibrations and abrasive sand inclusions found in raw castings.
0.4mm Precision Radius: The 04 (1/64") radius reduces radial cutting forces, making it the ideal selection for semi-finishing passes or for use on older machines where minimizing vibration is essential.
