The Mitsubishi MMT16ERA55-S VP15TF is a versatile external threading insert featuring a partial profile 55-degree geometry. Unlike full-form inserts, this "A55" type can produce a range of pitches (0.5mm to 1.5mm / 48 to 16 TPI) while maintaining the 55° Whitworth angle. For CNC threading, this provides maximum flexibility for BSW, BSF, and G-series pipe threads. Engineered with the -S type 3D chipbreaker and the legendary VP15TF Miracle coating, it is the industrial standard for threading stainless steel and tough alloy steels.

VP15TF Miracle Grade
The VP15TF grade is Mitsubishi's benchmark for indexable threading. It utilizes a micro-grain carbide substrate paired with the Miracle (Al-Ti-N) coating. This combination offers high toughness and resistance to built-up edge (BUE), which is critical when machining gummy materials like 304 or 316 stainless steel where surface integrity is paramount.
-S Type 3D Chipbreaker
External threading often creates stringy, dangerous chips. The -S molded chipbreaker uses a 3D geometry to curl chips into small spirals. This reduces friction and heat, extending tool life and ensuring a flawless thread surface finish even on high-speed production lines.
