Designed for the MMTIR boring bar series, this insert features the advanced -S type 3D molded chipbreaker. This geometry is specialized for internal CNC threading where space is limited, ensuring chips are curled and evacuated to prevent damage to the internal thread walls. VP15TF Miracle Grade
The VP15TF grade is Mitsubishi's premier universal PVD solution. It combines a high-toughness micro-grain substrate with the Miracle (Al-Ti-N) coating. This provides industry-leading fracture toughness and anti-welding properties. It is specifically designed to stop built-up edge (BUE) when internal threading tough alloys or gummy stainless steels.
-S Type (3D) Chipbreaker
In internal pipe threading, chip control is the primary challenge. The -S molded chipbreaker uses a 3D rake angle to force chips into a tight spiral. This ensures they are easily flushed out by coolant from the boring bar, preventing the "nesting" effect that often leads to insert breakage and poor surface finish.
