Choosing the right PVD grade for your MRMN200-M insert:
The Stainless Specialist. Optimized specifically for M-class materials. It has better chemical stability and lubrication, making it superior for 300-series stainless steel where adhesion is the main problem.
The Generalist. A great all-rounder for Steel, Stainless, and Heat-Resistant alloys. Choose PC5300 if you need more toughness for heavy interrupted cuts, but PC9030 will almost always last longer in clean stainless turning.
Pro Advice: When using MRMN200-M PC9030 on 304 Stainless, use high-pressure coolant directed exactly at the cutting edge. This helps the -M chipbreaker flush chips away before they can scratch the finished radius.
