SNMG120408 NX2525
Mitsubishi Materials | High-Precision Cermet Finishing Specialist
The Mitsubishi SNMG120408 NX2525 is a high-performance cermet turning insert engineered for high-precision finishing. Utilizing the NX2525 micro-grain cermet grade, it offers an exceptional balance of toughness and wear resistance. Unlike standard carbide, this TiCN-based cermet has a low chemical affinity for steel, which prevents built-up edge (BUE) and allows for a superior mirror surface finish on carbon and alloy steels.

NX2525 Cermet Advantage
The NX2525 cermet grade is Mitsubishi’s general-purpose finishing choice for steel. Composed of Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN) and metal binders, it maintains high hardness at extreme temperatures. This prevents crater wear and allows for high cutting speeds while maintaining dimensional accuracy across long production runs.
Finishing Chipbreaker Geometry
The SNMG geometry features a double-sided, 8-edged design for maximum economy. When paired with the NX2525 substrate, the chipbreaker is optimized for light to medium finishing. It ensures stable chip breaking even at small depths of cut, protecting the workpiece surface from scratches and reducing vibration during high-speed CNC turning.
Recommended Cutting Parameters
