Description

TPGX080202L NX2525

Mitsubishi Materials | High-Speed Steel Finishing Cermet (Left-Hand)

Superior Surface Finish Technology

The Mitsubishi TPGX080202L NX2525 is an ultra-precision Left-Hand (L) Cermet insert. Engineered for high-velocity finishing, the NX2525 Cermet grade offers incredible resistance to oxidation and material welding (BUE). This makes it the ideal long-tail precision tool for CNC boring and finishing of carbon, alloy, and mild steels where a mirror surface finish is the primary requirement.

NX2525 Cermet Grade

The NX2525 grade is a general-purpose Cermet. It excels in chemical stability, meaning it does not react with steel at high temperatures. This prevents the cutting edge from dulling via chemical wear, ensuring your aluminum finishing (if non-ferrous) or steel finishing remains ultra-consistent over long production runs.

TPGX Precision Edge

The TPGX geometry is fully ground (G-Class), providing much tighter tolerances than pressed (M-Class) inserts. This is crucial for boring bar applications where small diametrical changes significantly affect part quality.

Recommended Cutting Parameters

Workpiece Material Speed ($v_c$) Feed ($f$) DOC ($a_p$)
Low Carbon / Mild Steel 150 - 350 m/min 0.03 - 0.10 mm/rev 0.05 - 0.5 mm
Alloy Steel (4140/8620) 120 - 280 m/min 0.03 - 0.08 mm/rev 0.05 - 0.4 mm

COMPATIBLE LEFT-HAND HOLDERS

Designed for Left-Hand (L) setups. Pairs with S-STFPL or S-STGPL style boring bars.

💡 Technical Pro-Tips: Cermet Selection

  • NX2525 vs HTI10: Use NX2525 for steel finishing to get a shiny surface. Use HTI10 for aluminum and non-ferrous materials.
  • Interrupted Cuts: Cermet is more brittle than carbide. Avoid using NX2525 for heavy interruptions or "choppy" cuts; it is strictly a continuous finishing grade.
  • Speed is Key: Cermet performs better at higher speeds. If you see material "smearing," increase your $v_c$ to utilize the grade's chemical stability.
