Machinist Tip: Achieving the Perfect RA
For the best surface finish with a 0.4mm radius, aim for a feed rate of 0.08 - 0.12 mm/rev. Exceeding 0.15 mm/rev may increase the scallop height and affect the finish quality.
Because VNMG is a negative insert, it requires a rigid setup. When using the HS breaker for finishing, ensure the overhang is as short as possible to take full advantage of the sharp edge.
